Did anything romantic happen to you on your vacation in Rome, Italy?

I was living in Florence for the summer and I went on a solo getaway to Rome for a weekend. My plan was to sight-see,wine taste and eat gelato for the entire weekend.......all by myself (I had about 5 kilos extra of pasta in my thighs and italian men were kinda getting on my nerves around this time) and then as soon as I got off the train, I was lost, the station was packed and I couldn't figure out my way to the subway station. Then suddenly this handsome italian boy approached me and asked me if "evryting-a was-a okayyy?"" and I'm a bit of a blunt girl so as soon as I turned around I couldn't help to say "'oh!....my!..vuoi sposarmi? (would you marry me?)" he smiles with perfect white teeth and said "certo'! (of course!)" ...obviously it was just a pick up line, but we ended up having dinner and drinks. next thing I know my weekend plan change drastically! and my solo sight-seeing became a romantic honeymoon.
I spent my entire summer going almost every weekend to Rome, but of course I thought it was just a summer fling, so I tried my best not to get attached. In August I came back to Toronto and I spoke on skype to my italian fling almost everyday. He knew all of the crazy stories of my best friend here, remembering all of their names, and he could even recognize places from previous stories. he would say things like "oh isn't that where Gaby got a date last weekend?"" it was like he was here!
Then one day at one of my infamous house parties, I had to go down to the lobby to receive the friends that were arriving. The concierge called me to say there was yet another friend waiting for me downstairs, and so I went to pick up the stranger, and all of the sudden I saw the cute smile that stole my heart at the train station! and even though he was standing there his massive back-pack and 12 hrs of flight in his eyes, I ran up to him and kissed him all over.
It's getting close to a year since I met him and our relationship couldn't get any better!...he just left back to Rome 2 days ago after visiting me for 10 days, and as a surprise got me a ticket to go visit him this August for the entire month!
needless to say I'm not doing solo getaway no more...I love Italy!!!
