Do you know which chapter includes a description or even a passing comment of his being married to Augusta Hawkins?

Thanks!

I believe that the commonplace at this time was to marry at the parish church of the family of either the bride or groom. I'm certain, since Mr. Elton obviously does not marry in his parish church, that he marries Augusta in Bristol, where she is from. Moreover, since he needed her father's permission - though admittedly the book does not mention a father (maybe the uncle is her supervising male relative) - he probably went to their estate, wherever in Bristol it might be.

You may not be familiar with English geography, but Bristol is only about ten to twenty miles away from Bath.

In short, it's more likely that Mr. Elton married in Bristol. Bath would be my second choice. After all, Bath seems a vulgar place to get married, probably distasteful to Ms. Hawkins' refined sensibilities? Ho-hum.
