I have a stock 04 Dodge Neon and I put in a 15" Kicker CVR thats 500watts RMS. Its powered by a 500watt Crossfire amp. Last night I was driving down the road with my lights and foglights on and a 24Hz bass test came on. After 3 seconds my check battery light came on, the lights flashed to the bass and the car started chugging forward to the beat also. Earlier in the night i used the amp to troubleshoot my friends system which might be relevant. His wires were frayed and im pretty sure a stray positive wire crossed over and touched the negative, causing some smoke to come out of the positive plug.
I regularly have the headlights dim to bass notes but never like this and when i got home to check it out even power windows dimmed all my lights quite a bit even with my stereo off. Is this a battery issue or amp? Im hopeing it hasnt perminantly damged my car.
