@Karl k: Actually the 'theory' suggests that there is a 'conspiracy' amongst the members that they discuss and enact policy unbeknownst to the American people it affects.

However, one can't help but wonder why the likes of Kissinger, Nixon, Bush, Rockefeller, etc. need to meet in secret and have gay parties at their retreat, Bohemian Grove, in California on an annual basis....without the mainstream press reporting on it.
 
Keep in mind, Prescott Bush funded Hitler. But hey, that is also a conspiracy theory (despite the documents to prove it).

9/11, Enron, real estate implosion, economy crisis, banking crisis, Iraq war, Afghanistan opium production up 1400%, torture, cameras found in every HDTV converter, Facebook backed with CIA venture capital, forced immunizations, GMO foods, patents on DNA, Monsanto, Maddoff Ponzi scheme, IRAs and 401ks being taken over by the government, no warrant searches, mileage tax, GPS manditory in all cars and trucks yeah it's just one great big coincidence.

Because we all know that the government NEVER lies about the invasions or the economy.

the conspiracy is that they are a bunch of nephilum, illuminati masons who secretly rule the world.

edit: i have seen photos of those very events in time magazine (minus the gay part).
all fraternities are "secret societies" that is part of the fun. most have annual alumni meetings. big deal.
loser frats probably talk about sports and celebrites at their meetings, groups of fromer world leaders probably discuss world affairs. what would you expect?
