...built-in Blu-ray drive? 1) What are the differences, in respect of watching Blu-ray movies on my 1080p HDTV, between i) a laptop having a built-in Blu-ray drive, connected my HDTV via HDMI, and ii) a standalone Blu-ray player connected to my HDTV via HDMI? (Differences in terms of visual and sound quality, UI, ease of control and anything you may think of)(I guess, in terms of visual quality, I cannot benefit from 1080p, right? And in terms of sound quality, no benefit from HD sound formats, right?)
2) Considering these differences, if you assume that I already have a laptop having a built-in Blu-ray drive, would an investment to a standalone Blu-ray player justify its price, i.e. do you think if it would be still necessary to have a standalone Blu-ray player? (In respect of this question please don’t make a distinction between a PS3 and other standalone Blu-ray players, as I won't use a PS3 for gaming, but if I decide to buy a standalone player, it’ll be a PS3 because it is, arguably, the best Blu-ray drive
PS. BTW, is it possible to connect a laptop to a surround sound system and benefit from 5.1 or over (in other words, benefit from all channels when watching a movie, be it Blu-ray or standard definition?)
