I live in condo building which is wired for Cable. We have cable outlets in our living room and two bedrooms. But we don't use cable, we use DirecTV. When we got the DirecTV, the installer just drilled a hole in the external wall and that became our new DirecTV outlet. The problem is, right now we just have that one outlet in the living room for the DirecTV, and we'd like to have it in the two bedrooms also. Does anyone know how we can have our bedrooms wired for the DirecTV? Is there someway to connect the DirecTV wiring in our living room to the existing cable wiring in the living room so that we could use our bedroom outlets for the DirecTV? Or would we have to have entirely new cables ran through the walls for the DirecTV? Thanks,

The cable tv coaxs are the same type used by dtv. However, you need to find the junction box where all the cables start from. There is a seperate cable going to each bedroom and living room. If you find the box you could use the cables with a splitter from the main tv but everyone has to watch the same show. To watch different programs you need a receiver from dtv at each tv. It will cost you to have them install tv to each bedroom and you will have to pay for each receiver or lease them from dtv.
