disabling browser / removing shortcut on Telus phone - contract (LG Venus 8800)?

is there anyway to remove the shortcut, or to disable the option on the menu ?
because i text quickly on my phone, quickly moving back and forth between menus
and i occasionally press the browser by mistake
i try to close it asap
but sometime the 1st page still appears
i don't have web include on my plan, so i get charged $0.10 per page
