I have an issue with my Dish HD DVR. Almost once a day, I'll be watching TV and the screen will go black, the unit will completely shut off, then restart (which takes a few minutes to reacquire the satellite signal). I've talked to Dish and they want to make me pay for a new receiver but I say screw that. I'm wondering if the issue might be minor drops in voltage. We have a 5,000 gallon pond with pumps running more than the entire pond capacity per hour so that's obviously a big energy hog.
So my question is: would a power conditioner solve this issue and stop these annoying resets?
Or possibly a UPS?

Also, what price should I expect to pay for a decent unit of whatever I get?
