I have tried to no avail to get Dish Network to replace MY DVD hard drive recorder they indiscriminately destroyed. Once again Dish TERRIBLE Network has refused to replace or refund me for my equipment I sent to them in error. Despite my filing a Better Busines Bureau Complaint, they simply offer an apology for inconvenience. They took my personal property and destroyed it without any notification to me, in any form, by any route. I mistakenly sent my DVD recorder with a hard drive to them. It looked similar to the dish receiver I was returning to them and I just packed the wrong one. They were both out of my media tower, which I was rearranging after switching to DirecTV. They continue and adamantly refuse to compensate me or replace my DVD recorder with hard drive. They show a total disregard for other's personal property, yet would charge me without hesitation for keeping and destroying their property.
Now they have a new $9.99 a month campaign to lure unsuspecting customers.

Good for DISH Network for holding their ground. You made a mistake that you must deal with. It's unfortunate that they destroyed it, but really not their problem. If you sent them an 8 track player are they supposed to waist their time and resources figuring out why it's there and what to do with it? Since their equipment is bar coded they probably don't even look at who it's from or keep the box with the unit. They scan it later as received. Your unit had no identification and therefore was trash. I'm assuming you also have to send back the real unit else you will charged for that.

As far as their current customer service on the issue, you just signed up with their biggest competitor. You drew the line in the sand.

If you sent in an item without an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number then it is your problem. NO one is should send it any equipment to any company without the companies express permission.
Companies receive hundreds if not thousands of returns a day They use the number assigned by them to keep track of returns.

No one should ever EVER return anything without a number, especially something that does not belong to the company, it is being returned to .

Why anyone would send a person DVD to Dish Network is really asking for problems. I don't blame them for not being able to return it to you.

They DID not take your personal property you gave it away by being so careless. Quit acting so childish. Dish is a very reputable company, but if you don't like them go with DirecTV or cable.
