Dish Network VIP 612 DVR Reviews...?

I'm getting the VIP 612 DVR from Dish Network tomorrow and wanted to know if it's as bad as some of the reviews on Amazon are. I have TiVo right now but it's not compatible with Dish HD and my townhouse doesn't support Comcast or Verizon FiOs yet so I'm stuck with Dish. I just wanted some opinions. Thanks in advance.
