I really want to buy this black 1994 toyota celica st coupe. But my dad doesnt think i should cause he said those types of cars have turbo and the repair/maitnanece is more expensive and the insurance well and .i wanna know if all toyotas celicas have turbos or no

No he is not correct, the majority of celicas do not have a turbo. If your car does have a turbo, it will say so proudly on the side of the car or on the engine. That, or you could research what a turbocharger looks like and look for it under the hood.

I have no idea.toyota cars arent good in general. I dont care about them so I wouldnt know.get like a mustang or a cobalt ss or malibu ss or impala ss.those cars are way better then a toyota combining.

nope. most of them dont have them.

and your dad is right about turbos. they arent cheap, and its incredibly easy to ruin one. just race around a bunch, park it and turn it off with no cool down period and its cooked.
turbos are powered by HOT exhuast gases, when you have a turbo working hard it can get red HOT.
turbos are lubricated and cooled with motor oil. turn off the motor and you turn off the cooling, do that when the turbo is still HOT and the seals fail.

and the more hp a car has the more it costs to insure it, especially with a young driver. certain key words like "turbo" can also raise insurance costs.
that was true when i got my 1st car. it was true when your dad got his 1st car.

back in the era of the american muscle cars, it was very common to underrate the hp as a selling point. the 70 chevelle SS with the LS6 454 big block motor was rated at 450 hp, it was putting out 500 hp easily but 500 hp cost more to insure and would of scared away some buyers.

On 1994 Toyota DROP the Turbo model (for America), ALL Celicas 1994 (for America) are NON turbo (N/A).

You can use a car performance simulator to test this Celica and find if is reduced performance its ok with you, try at http://www.nxgtrsim.com
