Do Christians get the same satisfaction confessing sins to their god as

they do confessing sins to a priest? The ritual of confession is a Catholic ritual that was abolished when Protestants broke away from papal authority. Protestants claimed confessing sins to their god was better than confessing sins to a priest, but I wonder, do Protestants get the same feeling of absolution as Catholics do? Confessing to a living, breathing human - a real person, as opposed to an intangible god concept is a totally different feeling, right?

It may be more enjoyable talking to an person but it's a waste of time going to a church to ask a human being for God's forgiveness.Much easier to do it at home talking to the One who has the ability to actually forgive sins. You can even do it without getting out of bed! :geek:
