I am leaking oil somewhere in the engine (I have very thin oil on the block) but white smoke does not come out of my tail pipe.

It could just be your valve cover gasket, the oil is working it's way out of the valve cover, if you have a blown head gasket you will have white moist smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe, thin watery oil on your dip stick and coolant getting in your spark plugs, overheating in a short period of time, these would be a few symptons of a blown head gasket, Hope this helps.

A blown head gasket will cause your car to over heat with a few other problems. I agree with Ryan. it sounds like a valve cover gasket or something simple.
