Do I have to bypass the stock tweeters in my car if I am installing two way...

...component door speakers? I have a 2002 Grand Prix and I bought new two way 5 1/4 inch door speakers. The car has stock tweeters which run off the leads of the stock 5 1/4 inch speakers, so I thought that I had to disconnect the stock tweeters to enable the tweeter on the new 5 1/4. Is this correct, or could I hook the stock tweeter back up to get additional sound? Also, do you know of any good tweeters that are flat- no protruding edges?

you can keep the original tweeters plugged in. the new 5.25s have resistors wired into them to allow the correct frequency to go to the correct speaker
