Im getting a PDA and it doesnt have Wi-Fi intergrated into it. It says it has a slot to store more memory, multimedia cards, or SDIO cards and i was wondering did it have to be the palm brand SDIO or can it be this (Mini SDIO 802.11b Wireless LAN Mini SD Card). Because i dont want to pay $100 for the brand one if i can get one for a third of the price somewere else...

Yes, you have to have specific SDIO WiFi cards for Palm devices.

Palm's own WiFi SDIO card works.

Sandisk's 128MB & 256MB combination storage and WiFi SDIO cards work with Palms and newer Palm OSs.

Sandisk's SDIO WiFi cards with no memory may or may not work depending on the newness of the SD card chipset. I know personally as I bought one through eBay and it didn't work.

For a discussion on the SDIO WiFi cards that work go here:

Though it's a Zodiac forum, I find there is better coverage than Palm's own website. The Zodiac models had 2 - SD slots, Slot 1 for SD only and Slot with SDIO capability. The slots were for gaming, SDIO WiFi, BT SDIO GPS antennas, SD memory.

Palm's own WiFi card can be found new on the internet for under $100.

For Sandisk memory models, go to eBay.

Make sure to download Palm's E2 WiFi drivers update from the website when you do get a WiFi card:

Part 2

I do not think the SDIO you linked, in additional information, will work with a Palm device. You can ask the Zodiac Tapland forum and they can give you a definitive yes / no answer.

Why not buy a Palm TX with WiFi built in, the larger screen display will allow you to view websites better. The E2 display does not have the collapsable Grafitti area so you cannot see much when browsing.

Staples has a TXs on sale for not much more than the price of an E2 + WiFi card. Plus the TX screen is much better for viewing movies and video.

Good luck.
