Me and my partner have been offered a perfect house for us through a private landlord (no agencies involved). He is coming over today for us to sign the agreement.
However, I'm 16 weeks pregnant (not quite showing yet). Do I have to tell him this?
I'd rather not say anything at the moment, and if, by law, I don't HAVE to tell him yet, then I won't.
I honestly don't think he'd have a problem with it, he seems very reasonable and nice, but I just don't want to say anything yet.
I'm in the UK, I don't know if this makes any difference (re: laws etc)
To Cass: Because it would mean having a baby in the house in 5 months time.

You have no obligation to tell the landlord this.

If you are claiming benefits to pay the rent - then telling him may work to your advantage as once baby arrives you would be entitled to more benefit - and the more income you have, the more chance the landlord is going to get his rent ;)

why would you have to tell someone that doesnt matter you are pregnant?

no you don't have to tell him. However make sure the flat is in good condition for raising a child.

Well it depends you dont have to tell him , However if your on any benefit you might have to .
