Do I need a passport to drive or walk back from Tijuana Mexico? Or is it currently only for land or air travel

I want to go visit a very ill family member, but need to get a passport asap!

What do you think driving or walking is? It is land travel. You need either a passport or your birth certificate to get back across the border. You need this for "land travel" and for air.

Passports are ony needed currently for FLYING to and from Mexico. See site below and read carefully for current requirements.
