I was never a good writer, and was never good at thesis statements, but in my English class I need to write an essay introducing myself to my professor, do I need a thesis statement for this? If I do, what should I write? Thanks.

Yes oncE its an essay.. Just start it by saying some of the things you will cover about yourself in it

Well a thesis statement is generally only for argumentative papers or when you're trying to PROVE something . You can't really prove yourself . . . or something . you can prove , that you're very loyal or something , which would be your thesis statement or something . But I don't think in this case you need one .

Just introduce what you're going to write :)

Well... it depends. An informal "thesis" could be something like "Here are some things worth knowing about yours truly" or "Teaching, crafting, and jogging are three essentials in my everyday life." I think of an essay introducing yourself as a bit looser than a traditional essay. Keep it simple and relaxed. Think of it like a letter.
