Do I need a Torque Wrench to tighten my lug nuts?

According to my owners manual my 2006 Honda Civic's tires require that I tighten my lug nuts at 80 lbs of pressure. Do I need to have a torque wrench to make sure that I am at 80lbs? Is it crucial? Can I just tighten the bolts with the tool that is provided to me? Is tightening the lug nuts to where they are a little tighter then snug good enough or does it have to be at 80lbs?

Have you ever seen them change tires at a garage? They don't use a torque wrench, they use an air wrench. You won't have one of those in your car when you get a flat, but the point is that the recommended 80 lb is a minimum.
