My horse has lately had a couple of lazy jumps, he was luck not to hurt his legs, i want to get him a full set of open front jump boots and bell boots, do i need them?

personally I never jump without polo wraps or eskadron boots (a great brand of open front jump boots, I highly recommend them. They're easy to wash, just throw them in the washing machine and they have gel to conform to a horses leg. I'll warn you they can be expensive though.) If you're tight on cash I would say polo wraps. They're cheap and work really well as padding and support when your jumping. As long as your horse isn't hitting his front feet together he doesn't desperately need boots and although they would be nice wraps would work just fine as well.

Bell boots are a whole different ball game. I doubt your horse needs bell boots, if he did you would know. Bell boots are used if your horse reaches forward too far with his back feet and is in danger of ripping of his front shoes by grabbing them with his back feet or cutting his front heels with his back feet. Most horses don't need them and unless you've seen your horse reach really far forward with his back feet they're really not necessary.
Hope this helps :)

I would definitely get him a full set of open fronts. Bell boots are more for if your bloke is over reaching with his back feet and cutting up his front. I wouldn't necessarily get them for him just for laziness's sake. Go the open fronts though, I don't work any horse with out any sort of protection ever.
