I'm planning a 7 day trip to the Cusco region. I would definately like to vist Machu Pichu and Puno and the anything else I can fit in. I plan on buying a ticket to Lima and then purchasing a plane ticket to Cusco once I land. Will I have any trouble booking excursions or doing things on my own if I just show up with out any advanced planning? Also can anyone suggest a cheap clean hotel or hostel in Cusco? I prefer my own room. Thanks.
