Orthodox Judaism? Is it easier to convert into Orthodox Judaism from another branch of Judaism (such as Conservative or Reform) than from Christianity?

Path to the Orthodox Judaism has a lot of obstacles. Would it help if start with the Conservative Judaism and then go to an Orthodox Rabbi (as a Conservative convert)? Would I look more trustful in his eyes? As If I have already done the half of the way?
