Do I need to Unlock/Debrand my Sony Ericsson K800i?

I have a Sony ericsson K800I that i wish to put my o2 sim card in, The previous user had a Virgin sim card in side the phone and was using it fine. I put in my o2 simcard today and i got 'inactive sim' My sim works on my Unlocked Vodafone 360 (Samsung H1) so there are no problems with the sim card. the Sony ericsson has no Branded name on the phone itself. And if i go to Settings for the network i only has Vodafone in the settings, So Virgin must use that. so im guessing the phone is Locked to Virgin im not sure.

Just a little confusing to me, Long story short > Working o2 sim inside non branded phone > Previous working time was Virgin Uk sim > Settings only had vodafone
 
You have to unlock your mobile before using the o2 network. This unlocking process can be done by many ways. And i suggest you the unlocking code.
