Do I really need those plastic water spray guards on the front fenders of my car?

front side fender, that plastic thing, with plastic screws

is the car ok w/o them
 
You don't need mud flaps or splash guards. They just help to keep the car cleaner. Some people add them as accessories because they like the way they look, but some people don't like them -- even if they keep the car cleaner.
