Do I still have to pay an initial fee when i start up ares?

i know that all the ares downloads are free, but i have been trying to get to there music and its saying i need an activation code, and in order to get that activation code, im having to pay for at least a year's worth subscription. is there any way around paying this, or do i have to do it in order to download all the songs i want. any help would be greatly appreciated :)
well i just typed in ares.com and thats what it gave me. is it spelled wrong, or is there a different version?

Sounds like you have downloaded the wrong ares...I have never had to pay anything. Are you sure you got it from the right source...ie the real ares?

Why did you vote me thumbs down? I was trying to answer your question. Get your ares from sourceforge. I have seen several fake ares sites that try to profit off the name.
