In May the house I live in was sold to the bank. It went through the whole process, notice of default, notice of trutees deed sale then sold. My landlord keeps saying everything will be ok but I have the documentation from the county recorders office. I know I am going to have to move soon and need to save money. Do I still have to pay rent?

You can't live there rent free. If you think you should not pay the landlord, then you need to pay rent to the bank. One or the other is due the rents.

The law is different for each state, but I'd say don't pay him. If he's not the legal owner then he has no right to collect. What I would do though is put all that rent money aside so that if the bank asks you to pay them you'll be able to promptly.
