competition out of the market? big established companies can easily afford the regulations, especially with how they get millions of dollars in subsidies from the government. new companies cannot afford the regulations so never enter the market. more competition means better products and cheaper service for the customer. BP wants as little competition as possible so they can rip you off.

blueridge- there are currently thousands of pages of regulations on the books. thousands of regulations are added to the federal register every year. if anything is laughable it is to say that we operate in a free market. and you wonder why they have so few competitors? it is because of the regulation that many people feel hurts big business and helps out the little guy. cap and trade is just more of the same, of course bp supports it. it will mean even less chance of competition entering the market. how does cap and trade help out a smaller company? how does it help BP have competition?
blue- i dont know what you mean when you say "i thought you guys were pro business". what guys? i am not pro business, i am pro freedom. that is why i oppose legislation that limits competition in the marketplace.
