Do opposites really attract in relationships?

I've been a good guy my whole life(I get straight A's, I don't drink/do drugs, I don't harass others, etc.). I am sort of an artsy, talented, very intelligent, non-athletic(I'm not like out of shape, I have sort of a swimmer's build), nice guy. My type of girl would be the nice, a little shy, girl. But I've heard the term, "opposites attract", which means in order for me to get a girl like that, I have to start being a jerk. Is it true? If opposites do attract, what kind of girl will I end up with if I stay the way I am?
And have some serious answers, you want a bad boy, I will give you a bad boy...*cracks knuckles*

Opposites attract but there have to be some simmilarities and things in common at the same time.
For instance,
I am very sassy, outgoing and talkative, my boyfriend is reserved, cool and well composed.
He rarely gets angry at anything, i get uspet easily.
he works wells in solving problems and I get confused sometimes. he is very organized and meticulous and neat, I am unorganized at times and a bit messy but NOT dirty, I am neat but I am not meticulous about it.

he is traditional but spontaneous and creative.
I am creative, sometimes spontaneous but I am a free spirit and dance to my own tune
So we are different but kinda similar

That's not the answer.

You sound a sensitive guy and well the type of girl you need and what everyone really needs is a steady girl who doesn't overdress to impress.

Those types of girls are well "NO WAY"

I would never date a girl who dressed to impress you know the type short skirt lots of makeup and basically overdoing it!

I would date a sweet shy girl (and i have and still with her after 3 years!!) and someone who is just well you know sensitive but firm on the ways of life.

If you are a sensitive guy then well a sensitive girl is what you need.

This type of lady wouldn't be the "want to go out every night and get drunk"

She would be a loving lady who doesn't care what she does as long as she's with the bloke she loves.

These days not everyone has pots of money so a gold digger lady is a no go too!

Being a bad boy doesn't pay either as some girls do find this a turn off or you might get more than you bargained for and come off worse.

I would stay as you are and well go with the flow.

These days it's not all about having a great house great car etc.

Women wants too much from men and this shouldn't be the case.

They dress up some like tarts to attract attention and when they get the wrong type of attention they scream "rape" even though they put themselves in this situation in first place.

I see it all the time woman attempting to attract men just for sex etc etc.

Us men have got pride and respect too!

You wouldn't see me dressing up like a twat just to get attention from the ladies!
