I know sport bikes shift 1-N-2-3-4-5-6 and click into a set position for each gear, I also know cruisers have the same pattern, but Do they also click into a set position like a sport bike? or does the foot lever go up and down and settle back into the same position( if that makes since). Thanks in Advance.

All motorcycles today shift the same way. 1 is down from Neutral, then 4 or 5 or 6 up.

Cruisers tend to have 'heel and toe' shifters, so rather than get your toe under the shift lever to pull it up, you can push down with your heel. They also often have floorboards rather than a peg to put your foot on. I'm not really sure why this is, or if it is really better or more comfortable.

But if you learn to shift on either a cruiser or a sportbike, you will know how to do it on the other.

That doesnt really make sense. They shift the same though, the shift lever returns to the sch ame position after each shift
