Do these commercials for dating sites like match and eharmony nauseate you as...

...much as they do me? They feature the most insipid, arrogant people imaginable, both men and women, who talk about dating as if it's some sort of job interview. Dating is supposed to be about having fun and hopefully good sex. We've all been on a date with that person who treats it like a job interview (women are far, far, far worse about this than men, but men are guilty as well) and nothing is more miserable.

I've never understood that whole system. Experience has taught me you can get all the statistics on a guy you could possibly imagine. On paper the guy looks like a perfect match. But it takes thirty seconds of talking to him and you know otherwise. Where as you can meet some guy in a class at college, talk to him for thirty seconds and know there is something there.

ehamony didn't let me join because i'm lesbian and they don't offer same sex seeking option....but my mom and step dad met on there 5 years ago and have been happily married since.

I must be a freak, because I did the E-Harmony thing, and they gave me 0 (ZERO) compatible matches for me here where I live in Utah.

haha yes! i was actually a nanny for one of the people on those stupid match.com commercials where they feature a user.

funny thing is, he was a travelling business man type who only used the site for state to state booty calls.

I've gotta say, if i'm taking a girl out and buying her drinks and food, i want to at least have some fun - sex is just one of many varieties of fun of course.

If she just sits there looking prim and proper and not saying anything...

i think they are trying to reach the Christian audience aka the ones pretending they only want the good guys . so they give them an excuse to try and find another hypocrite in their site .

btw you need to stop pointing that weapon at me unless you want to shoot it ... im watching ya ! .

yes they do. But those types of sites r increasing and different sites appeal to different types of people. I guess it's the business of love, and it makes a lot of $, because all want love n happiness and will go to the ends of the earth to find it...so it's a good $ maker, and sites like these capitalize on it. There have been many stories where people go on these sites and find dates, who only drain them of their life savings and their emotion. One time match got sued by someone because they set their own employees up with this woman so she'd keep on going on the site and paying the company.
