.... when it is obvious that they have no idea what the past was like..... and they don't have even the faintest grasp of history and no idea of the day to day problems that even people in relativley modern times past faced.
Baptismby fire, I am not meaning your grandma who knew how life was different 60 years ago when she was a kid, or your husband who has studied history and knows how life was in 1800.
I am annoyed by people that complain about conditions today (whilst comparing them to the past) and yet have no idea how much worse their life would be if they actually lived one or two hundred years ago.
