...prophecies for the time era we're in? Why do Christians do that?

btw I am a Christian I just use common sense instead of manipulation.
The Capitalist Mind- if you want to make it a competition of who had the most accurate prophecies then Native American spiritualism would win hands down not the bible. To top it off the Indians are still very accurate on their prophecies even in these days..
Neat guy- I disagree that kind of thought causing division within the church. Christians should just obey Christ two great commands and stop forcing their views on others.

The Bible has thousands of source documents to validate its accuracy and reliability. I trust in God's word more than man's word

You must understand that then when you open the living word to read it, that it is just that,my living word that is good for all time to come and that the book of revelations is just as living and it applies to the events of today more than you know, for right now and for the past 12 months we have been hovering in rev 15.8we will see if we can fix things and if not then the vials will be poured out,but that is mans choice.
Hears a blessing and a our father prayed just for you.Practice the holy rosary for world peace and for your own inner and spiritual renewal.

1/4 of the Bible is prophecy. This is part of the evidence that the scriptures were truly inspired by God because man could never have known the outcome of these events in advance and to such amazing detail.

its not that ancient...only 6-7000 years old...plus it relates to us because its God telling us what was going to happen...they do that because God told us what was going to happen and it just helps us get ready for the day when Jesus is comin back!

If you do not regard scriptures as evidence regarding events that are exactly the same as the scriptures then you are blind to the truth..

Yes I hate it when Christians twist the Scriptures and try to fit in prophecies with modern day events. All Christians should be taught how to interpret Scripture correctly and guard themselves against these false or misguided preachers. God bless.

It is called survival. Religion offers a theory for survival after death, and by convincing themselves that the prophecies came true, they are better able to believe that the idea of life after death may also be true.

They're not. They were written for their time, not ours.

Example: Revelation is a "keep up the hope" piece for persecuted Christians in the Roman Empire; it's not about modern times.

I am with you on that: naysayers and doomsday prophets are ridiculous. They only undermine the serious student of the subject with their hype.

If you read the book Pray That You May Escape, I think you'll understand Christian Bible prophecy a lot more and have a better appreciation for the toic. Don't let the title full you either, it really is a down-to-earth, intellectually honest look at the topic. It's easy to ready too.
