Do you have any tips for a contact lenses newbie?

I'm getting contacts soon, because people have told me that they're a lot easier to use than glasses, with peripheral view and lack of distortion.

Would you say soft or RGP?

Disposable?

Tips on getting the contact lenses out (looks kind of scary to do...)

Other tips?
