do you have to activate a movie thats on a blu-ray disc from a blu-ray player

or r there any play restrictions i noticed that some blu-ray players have a network adapter on them for internet connectivity, what is that for exactly, would it be because some movies have to be activated on that specific blu-ray disc player like you have to do with some computer software....
