Do you like instrumental music, or must there be lyrics for you?

Approximately one-third to of the music I listen to is instrumental.
I think that instrumental music is just as, if not more powerful, than music with lyrics. But it seems like no one appreciates instrumental music.

Example!
I was listening to "Get You Back" by Shawn Lane. That song is instrumental. This girl came up to me and took one of my headphones and started listening. She asked if there was any words and I said no. She then took the headphone out and said some thing like "There's gotta be words for me"

So, how about you? Do you like instrumental music or does there have to be lyrics for you to like it?

BQ: Favorite instrumental songs/bands/musicians?
I play guitar, and there is a ton of guitar-oriented instrumental music. I like Jason Becker, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Blues Saraceno, etc.

I am also into stuff like Explosions in the Sky, Nightmares on Wax, etc.

One of the appeals that smooth jazz has on me is that it's mostly instrumental. As a single man, I just can't relate to the bumper crop of love songs out there.
