I sighed. My feet hurt. Mikey didn't lace the goddamn skates right. I plunked myself down into the grass and kicked my right skate off. It slid down the hill slowly and nearly hit Kat as she glided across the blacktop concrete basketball court. She didn't know how to stop, so she just sat down hard on the ground. "OW!" she cried. Mikey skated over to where the grass was, and he began to hike up the hill towards me. I couldn't help but smile. He was such a doof. "What are you doing? You'll fall right back down!" I cried down. Mikey shook his head, finally reaching my side. I glared at him, the sun reflecting off of his glasses and into my eyes. He looked away from me quickly. "Sorry." "It's okay." I said, and as I stood up, I lost my footing and went tumbling down the hill at turbo-speed, Mikey chasing me quickly. "ALY!" he cried. "Seriously, you need to be careful." Mikey said as he helped me stand up. After the terrifying fall, he looked more angry than concerned. Kat was still gliding around on her skates with Joey, John, and Frankie. Mikey was dead silent. "Are you okay?" he finally asked. "Yeah." I murmured, taking an interest in the ground. I didn't want to look at him. Honestly, sometimes he scared me. A lot. "Where'd your other skate go?" "How should I know? I was busy falling down the hill!" I snapped. I know, it's not the best, but I'm only 13. I can't write Lemony Snicket or something.
