on TV pretending to property experts? Funny how they tell us now is a great time to buy a house because of the falling market and the bargains to be had. This time last year they were telling us it was a great time to buy with house prices booming. Funny how in their world the economics work no matter which way you look at it. Suki - Kirsty Allsop, January 2008: 'If house prices fall this year I will eat my hat' Nuff said. Non cockney rebel - I always thought Phil was gay till I found out he was married. I still have doubts ...... Misty Blue - If you think there is only going to be a further 5% fall in the market, then youre as daft as Kirsty. I urge you, if only because its your son's biggest purchase, to tell him to hold off till the end of this year. Mervyn King, the head honcho at the Bank of England has already stated that the economy is in the worse shape he has ever seen and is forecasting a possible contraction of the economy by 6%. This will ensure unemployment remains high. Im telling you right now, if you wanted to lay a wager on house prices being more than 10% lower this time next year than they are now, I would take you up on it.
