With all the talk about puppy farms recently i began thinking about my 8yr old 'purebred' poodle. My grandparents bought him for my brother and i for christmas from a pet shop (this was before we knew anything about puppy mills). In his short lifetime he has has surgery on his ear for an unusual condition, has a chronic skin condition that no amount of vet check-ups and pills seems to be able to cure and sometimes just gets minor ailment and whatnot. also, though he is meant to be pure poodle, he has course, wiry hair in addition to wool - like a combo.
I heard that dogs from puppy mills have medical problems and whatnot so i was just wondering if there was any way to tell if he comes from one or if based on the afore mentioned you think he is? or if there are any other facts about puppy-mill dogs that would help?
