Do you think my work colleague thought I was complaining about work?

I was sitting with my friendly work colleague in the bus, and we were talking. He is a nice guy so I began to mention about my tiring day and so much work I had to do from everywhere around the department and all, mentioning my responsibilities. I ended the conversation that the work keeps me busy and energetic.

Do you think he's thinking I'm complaining about work? Could he tell my boss since they're close to each other?

If it happened exactly the way you related it, I wouldn't worry. But you know what else I'd do? The next time he and I had one of those casual conversation moments, I'd mention the things you said, but then I'd make sure that I just happened to say something to the effect that, "My work is hard and tiring, but I love it---and I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the job and the company so I can move on up to even more responsibilities." Let him get that casually-dropped comment to you boss "since they're close to each other."
