It's also likely less expensive to simply buy a Sony PS3- you get a whole entertainment system for around $300- this way, you get the latest blue ray player (upgradable online); great games to play as well as a photo slide show program that's great.  2500:1 is a very low contrast ratio.  My Sony 52" HDTV gets about 30, 000:1.
