I prefer to use my netbook for classes, since it has a keyboard and I can use the MS Word and other Office apps, which are the most common doc formats for students and professors for assignments. I have an iPad2 and an iPod Touch which I use outside of classes. I use the iPod Touch for Skype over the campus WiFi network, which I use instead of a cell phone because it's cheaper and I don't have to remember to turn off to keep it from ringing during class. I use the iPad2 with AT&T 3G so that I can browse the internet and do email in locations without WiFi. The touchscreen keyboard is not a good substitute for a real keyboard to take notes in class.
