My buddy has a Dodge Nitro and this morning he went to work and everything worked fine. Then when he was going for lunch he put it into gear and reved and nothing happened. It reved up and everything and it sounded normal but it just didn't move. Now we have ruled out the obvious like P brake on or in neutral or something but we have no idea. It is about -30 to -40 degrees Celsius, so we thought it might have something to do with the cold, but were just not quite sure. Any suggestions on what the problem could be????? Thanks for everyone who answers!!!

Automatic?

Could be a problem with one of the gears or the torque converter. Check the fluid level in there (should have a dipstick) and try shifting it to a different gear (if it has the gear selector)
