Every once in a while I get spurts of inspiration. Like a paragraph for two that flow beautifully, then I try to elaborate on them and the ideas just disappear. Here's an example of one that I had while I was in London:
" Our last night in the city we sat on the steps of the fountain in Piccadilly Circus, laughing and crying and reminiscing about our travels, trying to ignore the sun creeping slowly over the buildings as morning broke; we didn’t want to accept that it was our last day in the utopia we’d created between us. As I watched the lights on the buildings dim and the traffic wake up the sleeping city, it was then when I realized what I’m here to do: I’m going to be a writer."
I'm really happy with this weather it be a beginning or a climax or what have you. I have moments like this all the time but struggle to think of what to tie it to.
Anyone else have these moments? Any suggestions?
