Does anyone have a 95 or 96 Subaru Legacy Outback?

I just bought one and it has a little under a quarter tank of gas. I was wondering if maybe this is the problem with it not staying started. It starts perfectly but it dies almost immediately unless you give it constant gas. I was told that it's a pressurized gas tank, so I was wondering if anyone else has this problem out of theirs if it doesn't have a certain amount of gas in it. Please respond asap.
