Does anyone know the pros and cons to Lumineers versus traditional veneers?

I know that Lumineers are newer and are supposed to be less painful but I have heard horror stories about both and just want to know pros and cons of each one, including price differences and how long they last. Thanks!
Also for prices, I just want to fill a gap between my two front teeth.
