Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8L? My brother is going to be fixing my car this week, and I want to make sure he has all the tools on hand that he will need!

Never attempt to just change a head gasket without having the cylinder head checked for flatness at an automotive machine shop. The surface that faced the top of the block most likely is warped. That's why the head gasket is leaking now! Seriously, my brother in law just removed the cylinder head from a Dodge six cylinder gas motor. A machine shop had to remove .028 from the cylinder head surface just to make it flat again!

He'll need a 1/2 set of metric sockets, a 16" ratchet, a 1/2" torque wrench, surface scraper, shop manual (Haynes, Chilton's or Motors), shop cloths, container for the old antifreeze, fresh antifreeze, head gasket and any other specialty tools for parts removal that Nissan may have hidden inside the valve cover.
