...don’t know where to start.? My girlfriend is going through a rough time right now, it would take forever to get into details, and I am looking into taking her on a romantic vacation in the month of February. Please help, I don’t know where to start. We both live in Southern California and I am willing to spend around $400-$700 per person for the flight and hotel. If you guys have better places in mind and its more than my price range, please let me know.

I prefer to take her to a sandy beach, with clear blue waters, and a luxurious hotel/bungalow. I know that I am asking a lot with my price range, but she always talks about going to such paradise and she thinks that it can only happen in her dreams.

Please help me get on the right track. I briefly looked into the Bahamas and Hawaii, but gave up thinking it would be more expensive since it’s further away from So Cal. I Never been on a vacation like this so don’t know if there are any great spots in Central America.

I thank you guys in advance for answering this question.
If mexico, where would be the best place?

If you are a member of AAA I know they have travel packages that are reasonable. They also get you discounts on hotel rates and airfare. Otherwise since you are in S. California you might check into places in Mexico. At this time of year I'd think rates would be lower since it's not Spring Break or summer time. Shouldn't be tons of tourists!

If you aren't an AAA member check out Travelocity, Expedia, etc., b/c they'll set you up with airfare, hotel, rental car, etc. You might even get lucky and find a hotel that provides a shuttle service so you won't have to rent a car.

I highly recommend a cruise for the following reasons. There are departure ports in Southern California out of Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Diego. The price includes your lodging, food, most drinks, and entertainment, The money you would spend on airfare, hotel, rental car and eating out on a land vacation would be astronomical,.

Cruises are also tons of fun because you meet new people, they have fun activities and visit great places. You also don't have to worry about dragging luggage around if you want to visit other places.

There is valuable information on booking cruises at:

http://www.amazingtoursandtravel.com

The cruises will vary in price due to length and places they visit. Some examples include:

4 day cruise out of Long Beach starting at $269 (taxes not included) that stops at Catalina and Ensenda, and

7 days cruise out of Los Angeles, starting at $479 tthat stops in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

Best of luck and have a lot of fun!!!
