Does every CD/DVD Drive Work with Every Computer?

I'm building a gaming rig and wanted to know if I could tear out a CD/DVD drive from my old computer and use it in the new one. Along with that, since they are so expensive, could I do the same with 2 old hard drives?Just trying to save myself some money if possible. Thanks.

You certainly can reuse both, and while you are being money wise I will bet anything you will use a useless free AV. and wreck your machine.

It depends on the cables that are connected on the moetherboard, if your motherboard is new and it must be the cable type calle SAT and it often colored red with small black head. If old it came in compound cable, and it's that large one.
