does getting an iv hurt more or less than donating blood?

iv's kinda sting a little. they don't really hurt me. well i think if i was you i would get a butterfly needle cause they are really small and don't hurt as bad as the others. now i've never had blood drawn. but two weeks ago i had an iv and i wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.

im more nervous for the iv then for the actual surgery... what can i have them to do help me stay calm or help them find a good vein?
