Considering the three middle eastern faiths.. I see Islam as a revision of the two that came before it in a sense. Christianity as an outgrowth of a once Jewish sect. So, this leaves Judaism as a root.
I recall a passage in the Torah which says the gentile and the jew should be called to learn Torah. However, I was looking for a non co-dependent way of life. I understand not all jews want everyone to be Jews. That there is a path they can follow.. the so called Noahide movement.
Yet, to reiterate, one should not have to be co-dependent on another faith for one's own. So, again, I would think if one was Monotheist and followed a morality in line with the ten commandments it should be a pleasant thing to the Jewish God.
I thank all in advance.
Steven:
What is defined as sexual immorality?
I would think, according to my reading of the Torah this would include:
Sex before marriage (a)
Sex with other than your spouse (b)
Sex with the same sex (c)
Am I correct or missing something?
@Melkha
Thank you for the at-length explanation. As well as to those who have written before.
Would it be fair, then, to say a Shamanic culture in South America, monotheistic and following the seven laws (just in their own words, but same in spirit) could expect to stand side by side with a righteous Jew in the world to come?
Sounds very good if so, and a faith I can respect for not saying it is the only way and respects other paths.
